The 35-year-old British actress Kate Winslet was recently featured in the news for her brand new platinum cropped hairstyle which appeared on the April 2011 cover of British Vogue.  Winslet was wearing a Roland Mouret black knit dress and  Lancôme makeup. The actress has undergone some major changes in her life recently but is confident about embracing change.

Hair experts question whether Winslet's new drastic hairstyle is a reflection of her new life as a single mom since her recent divorce from renowned director Sam Mendes.  Winslet and Mendes split up in early 2010 after six years of marriage and nine years together in a romantic relationship.  The couple worked together in the 2008 film, Revolutionary Road which Winslet co-starred in with DiCaprio, her co-star in 1997's Titantic.

Winslet has been a spokes model for the French make-up brand for several years. People's StyleWatch blog reported she was joining the company as the face of Lancôme's Tresor perfume in 2007. At that time, she told People that for her, the affiliation with the company was about "about being real in who you are and comfortable in your skin."

For Kate's 2009 Golden Globes sophisticated updo use large sized hot rollers all over the head. When you take the rollers out, separate and deconstruct the curls with your fingers. Lightly spray with dry spray wax or similar. Gather all the hair that is behind the ears and pull it into a simple twist up towards the crown of the head.  

Gently direct the sides of hair back and incorporate them into the twist in the back of the head.  Secure with hairpins in the same color as your hair. Separate the front gently down the middle to create sexy curls. Finish with a light hairspray.  Add a beautiful sparkling comb to create that extra glam!
