Book Review: Naked Mom by Brooke Burke

As an avid reader of celebrity books both fiction and non, I must say that Brooke Burke's Naked Mom is by far my favorite to date. If you are prudish and can't get past the cover, I'm sorry to say but you are missing out on a fabulous book of knowledge by experience and a witty take on life. Open your mind!
Not only does Burke offer an honest and frank take on motherhood, but she showcases her true self and is real from the get-go.
Throughout the book, Burke offers up tips, advice and shares her own stories without sounding discouraging. Sure she rakes in the dough as a celebrity and lives a more glamorous lifestyle than most of us, but like the title of her book, Burke bares all including her feelings and experiences as a mother of four, business woman and wife. How does she juggle her lifestyle? Don't call it a balancing act.
One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Perfection isn't an ideal, it's an illusion." While many moms struggle to seek out a balance between their personal and professional life, Brooke stresses that there is no such thing. Striving for a 'balance' will only set you up for extreme disappointment.
If you are a fan of Dancing With the Stars, Brooke does include some behind-the-scenes tidbits that you will appreciate. (And believe it or not, she and Derek really did have it out for each other!)
Burke shares many entertaining stories that any parent can relate to. A day from hell? Yep, been there. Finding out how to appropriately release our inner bitch? Yep, needed to hear I wasn't the only one who contemplated the appropriate moment.
This book would make the perfect Mother's Day gift!
